The QHYCFW3 filter wheels improve on their predecessors , the QHY 2nd. Gen. with a new friction drive motor (instead of the gears used in the previous version), with no backlash and allowing high precision positioning and stopping.
It is a high quality, ultra-thin hybrid stepper motor with higher precision and smaller pitch angle that is enclosed and therefore protected from dust or other external agents, which improves reliability and motor life. This motor allows reversing the direction of rotation of the carousel which can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise.
It has two control modes and switching between them is easy with a single button.

Back Focus Consumed
For ease of calculation, all data shown is the back focal length consumed when using the adapter, which is not necessarily equal to the thickness of the component itself. The calculation of the filter wheel back focus consumed includes two parts: The thickness of the filter wheel body (such as 15.5mm for the CFW3S-US), and the back focus consumed by the camera adapter (such as 4mm for the CFW3S-US).
