Atik EFW2.2 2" electric filter wheel

ATIK has recently introduced a new motorized filter wheel, the EFW2, with multi-filter capability. This new wheel employs interchangeable filter discs, so it can be used in multiple combinations, and has a 54mm aperture on both sides. With these features, the EFW2 can easily adapt to different types of sensors including full frame 35mm format sensors.

The EFW2 also features a modern design with a slim, lightweight profile. For example, the distance between a camera ATIK and the wheel is 0mm, while still being able to rotate the camera to the desired position. The additional backfocus will only be 22mm.

Of special interest to users of the ATIK 383L+ will be the short distance between the filters and the CCD. This means that the popular 1.25" filters can be used with this camera up to a focal ratio of f/5 without relevant vignetting, while other manufacturers with the same CCD can only go down to focal ratios of f/8 or f/9.

The filter holder wheel ATIK EFW2 for 2" filters has room for 5 filters of this diameter. As far as software is concerned, the EFW2 is ASCOM compatible, so any ASCOM compatible software will be able to control it. Additionally, the EFW2 can be controlled by ATIK 's own Artemis Capture software for simple and efficient use.
