The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 100° field of view eyepiece series has been optimized to provide high contrast, high resolution images with no field curvature.

The visual effect of these eyepieces, with their high eye relief and 100° apparent field is truly an impressive experience. Your eye will be relaxed and will allow you to easily use the "side view" technique to observe faint details across the entire field of view. The 100° series eyepieces come with a retractable rubber eyecup that will allow you to adjust your eye height for comfortable observing (experienced astronomers know this is a key issue when you want to explore the visual limits of your telescope). To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are finished in matte black, as are the edges of the lenses themselves to avoid reflections between them.

All 100° series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.

These eyepieces, with their huge apparent field of view not only provide the viewer with a panoramic viewing experience, but also relax the eyes so the viewer can pay attention to finer details for extended periods of time. These 100° ultra-wide-angle eyepieces are derived from military technology used in targeting and locking systems.

Each 100° eyepiece is waterproof and internally sealed with inert, dry argon gas to prevent internal fogging, to stop the intrusion of fine dust particles and fungus, and to maximize the life of the internal coatings.

To ensure this watertightness, each eyepiece is tested by submerging it to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
