The renowned German manufacturer of quality accessories, BAADER PLANETARIUM offers with this eyepiece kit the possibility of having a wide range of magnifications in a single kit and with the maximum ease of use offered by the fact of changing eyepieces (and therefore focal length) simply by rotating the revolver.
The eyepieces included in the set offer an optical quality impossible to achieve in this price range. BAADER, taking advantage of its knowledge of the manufacturing processes used by CARL ZEISS, has manufactured these eyepieces following the unmatched original design that CARL ZEISS used in its Orthoscopic and Plössl eyepieces.
These eyepieces offer exceptional contrast and sharpness with a 50° field of view, definition at the limits of the field of view and excellent and comfortable observation thanks to their ergonomic design. They also incorporate truly state-of-the-art High-Transmission coatings on each of the lens faces used, resulting in a truly brilliant image.
The kit contains the following elements:
- Four eyepieces with the usual high quality of BAADER products: 6, 10 and 18mm Ortho plus a 32mm Plössl. All 1.25".
- BAADER' s Barlow Q-Barlow 2.25x.
- Q-Turret eyepiece revolver for 1.25" eyepieces.
- Metal case with transparent window on top (Astro-Box #1 M31)
An added wide range of effective focal lengths can be achieved with the standard barlow. The cell containing the 2.25x barlow lens can be mounted either on the barlow barrel or directly on the 1.25" nosepiece of the Q-Turret revolver.
Rotating the barrel changes the eyepiece and therefore the focal length. However, thanks to the fact that all eyepieces are parfocal, we will not need to refocus every time we change eyepieces.... This makes observation much easier and avoids wasting time looking for eyepieces in the dark.
The possibility of mounting a CCD camera to replace one of the eyepieces also allows the Q-Turret to be used as a Flip Mirror. The camera will also be fully parfocal with the other eyepieces.
