The high-performance optics of the XW series incorporate ultra-low dispersion, high-refractive lanthanum glass elements to produce a well-balanced image with minimal aberrations. It is specially designed to reduce the annoying blackout effect by effectively compensating for spherical pupil aberration.
PENTAX original multilayer coating for excellent light transmission efficiency.
All lens surfaces that come into contact with air are treated with the original multilayer coating, while all laminated surfaces are treated with the innovative partial coating to provide light transmission efficiency of over 90% (an astounding 96% at 550 nm) over the visible light spectrum.
Advanced light-shielding technology for enhanced image contrast.
Thanks to PENTAX's advanced computer simulation technology, the XW series features a light-shielding diaphragm in the most effective position to dramatically reduce internal reflections for a brighter, higher-contrast image.
