Adjustment ring for MaxBright II Binoculars and T2 Diagonals from Baader Baader Planetarium

  • Rotation lock / auxiliary ring Maxbright II Bino: for the shortest possible adaptation of the Maxbright ® II Bino directly on all Baader T-2 star diagonals, whether prisms or mirrors, without any intermediate parts that may cause an increase in optical length.
  • The Maxbright® II Bino has an exposed M34 male thread, after both alternate adapters have been removed from the Maxbright II body. This M34 male thread threads directly into the M34 female thread present on each Baader T-2 prism or mirror.
  • This direct attachment leaves no room between the bino and the T-2 star diagonal to take a Baader glasspath corrector, but on the other hand, the shorter optical length of the combo may be short enough to not need a glasspath corrector at all, so it is worth a try (exemption: the 2" 1.8x Glasspathcorrector® 1.8x for refractors and SC (# 2456305)can be placed in front of any of the Baader T-2 star diagonals). Even so, it is possible that the Bino may not bottom out in the correct position when fully threaded while using the M34 male / female threads described. For this reason, a specific T-2 locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (# 2458271) is available. This T-locking ring will be screwed "up" against the body of the Maxbright II, to prevent the Bino from turning unintentionally and, above all, to prevent it from falling off.
  • A T-2 Locking ring with lever - for MaxBright® II (# 2458271), dedicated for the Maxbright-II, is additionally required. This locking ring threads directly onto the male thread of any T-2 star diagonal and the auxiliary Bino ring mentioned above for MaxBright® II adaptation (# 2458272) is loosely placed between the binocular and the locking ring. The small visible elevation on the locking ring should point toward the binocular and the smooth side toward the diagonal of the star.
  • This auxiliary ring functions as a cushion to prevent scratching the paint on the underside of the Maxbright II while the T-2 locking ring is screwed up against the bino.
