The Celestron DX Smartphone Adapter Kit is a great first step into the world of image exploration or digiscoping. Get everything you need to capture sharp, detailed images and videos with this kit: the smartphone adapter and a Bluetooth remote shutter release.

The smartphone adapter fits any eyepiece from 29 mm to 45 mm in diameter, including telescopes equipped with 1.25 " eyepieces, spotting scopes, monoculars and binoculars.

The DX smartphone adapter kit fits a wide range of smartphones. The phone platform adjusts and fits any device, usually with the case still on. The secure platform withstands weight thanks to the adapter's strong threaded knobs to secure the adapter in place.

Regardless of the optics you choose, installation and use of the adapter is simple. First, place your phone on the adapter. It is held securely in position with the help of an adjustment knob that locks your phone in place. Next, align the phone's camera with the center of the eyepiece. Once you have determined the perfect position, tighten the adjustment knob for a secure fit.

Note: Some large and/or bulky phone cases (including folio style cases) may need to be removed in order for the phone to fit into the adapter.

Once the phone is mounted on the eyepiece, you can capture still images or videos, in addition to accessing the rest of your phone's features. You can even text your photos to a friend or post them to social media while your phone is still mounted on the adapter.

To determine if your optics are compatible with the smartphone adapter, simply measure the outer diameter of your eyepiece. If it is within the range of 29mm to 45mm, you can use it with this adapter. The adapter does not work with scopes.

Bluetooth Remote Trigger Control

To capture the best image, Celestron has also provided a Bluetooth shutter release remote control that allows you to trigger the camera shutter on any Android or iOS smartphone. The remote control reduces image blur caused by disturbing the phone or telescope.
