Sky-Watcher EvoStar 150ED Apochromatic dual speed telescope

To meet the requirements of the most demanding users, the optical tube is solidly constructed entirely of steel. The interior is painted in matte black to prevent intrusion of stray light .A screw with photographic tripod thread pitch is included installed on one of the clamps for piggyback photography as well.

To obtain the valuable definition of "APO", a refractor must correct the primary and secondary chromatic aberrations inherent in all systems whose light rays pass through an optical element. In the case of the Sky-Watcher EvoStar 150ED, a doublet composed of an ED glass element reduces chromaticity to limit very considerably the occurrence of color halos at the edges of bright objects such as planets or the Moon.

The use of multilayer treatments on all optical surfaces significantly limits light losses due to light travel through the lenses, making the EvoStar 150ED brighter and more contrasty than conventional, less corrected telescopes. The "metal high transmission" (MHC) treatment is deposited on the air-spaced lens surfaces, which guarantees amazing results with a light transmission close to 99.5%.

Thanks to its focal ratio of f / 8, the Sky-Watcher EvoStar 150ED is also particularly interesting for deep sky photography. In combination, for example, with a large-format digital camera (corrector / reducer recommended), you can obtain fabulous images of the most beautiful deep sky objects.With its150mm diameter itcaptures 2.25 times more light than a 100mm refractor.

The 2" Crayford metal focuser provides robustness and precision focusing. A clamping screw is used to maintain focus according to the orientation of the optical tube.
