The TS Imaging Star 71 telescope is the perfect telescope for astrophotographers working with large sensors. The apochromatic quadcopter telescope provides a fully illuminated and corrected field with 45mm diameter.

Using ful-frame sensors (DSLR or CCD) is possible. The image accompanying the description of this telescope is an image of M78 and the Horsehead Nebula taken with the TS Imagin Star 71 telescope and demonstrates the astrophotographic performance. With a focal length of 347mm and a perfectly corrected wide field it is the perfect combination to obtain impressive wide field images with a high resolution, much better than that offered by typical telephoto lenses.

The newly designed 2.5" R&P DUAL SPEED focuser can support very heavy CCD cameras without any bending of the optical train. The focuser offers 360° rotation and an M48 thread connection. These features are more than enough to work even with large format cameras.

The optical system, tested by our team of technicians at Telescopiomania, consists of 4 elements ensuring apochromatism and field correction in a more efficient way than when combining a refractor telescope and an external field flattener.

General features:

Backfocus: The Imaging Star 71 is a pure apochromatic photographic refractor, without enough backfocus to be used with a zenith prism. However, direct viewing (straight without prism) is possible. The camera can be screwed directly to the focuser thanks to the M48 connection.
