Astrograph Askar 151PHQ Flatfield APO
High quality imaging optics:
The 151PHQ has a 21 mm larger aperture than the 130PHQ. The triplet lens with two ED lenses offers excellent control of chromatic and other aberrations. With its self-planing design, due to the fourth optical element, the 151PHQ offers great advantages in astronomical photography. It supports a medium mount (e.g. ASI461MM Pro) 60 mm image circle, has a fine dot pattern with minuscule distortion of the peripheral stars, and its central RMS radius is less than 2 microns.
The Askar 151PHQ is a true all-rounder - it is designed as a telescope for almost all applications:
♦ Large objects can be imaged. But equally, fine details of objects can be brought out when using cameras with high resolution.
♦ Using different cameras with different flange focal lengths is no problem. Simply focus and you are always at the correct distance. The adapter battle is eliminated.
♦ The focuser has a long travel, so you can find focus without any problems.
♦ The working or backfocus distance from the 2" receptacle is long enough to use 2" star diagonals. This turns the flat-field apo into a wide-field telescope or even a planetary telescope, depending on the eyepiece used.
Practical features:
The 151PHQ comes with a telescopic eyecup, a high quality CNC machined and painted tube, and attractive decorative parts. The 3.4" rigid focuser comes with 2" and 1.25" adapters and a finder base. When used with the optional 3" 0.7 x flat field reducer, the telescope can achieve a focal ratio of approx. f/4.9 and a focal length of approx. 740 mm, effectively reducing exposure time. The multifunctional handle has a central slot for attaching an M6 screw with an M6 screw hole. The standard dovetail plate from Losmandy, together with the robust double tube ring, is perfectly suited for viewing and shooting.
The 3.4" rack and pinion photographic focuser deserves a special mention:
The CNC focuser is optimized for photography and can withstand a load of up to 8 kg. The adjustment range is very generous. Focusing is performed by means of a rack that is decoupled from the drive tube bearing. This guarantees fine and precise adjustment even at maximum load. In addition to the 1.25" and 2" receptacle, the focuser also offers an M86 thread for screw adaptations.

This long focal ratio flat field apochromatic supports a 60 mm image circle and requires no back focus calculations. If the image is sharp, the field is flat.
