Astrograph ASKAR FRA 500 90mm f/5.6 quintuplet
ASKAR is the new line of telescopes selected for astrophotography. With these telescopes great attention is paid to optical quality, but also to mechanics. FRA stands for refractor telescopes with integrated corrector element for a flat, corrected image field. The FRA series is mainly used for astrophotography.

The ASKAR FRA500 is a 5-element Petzval apo with 500 mm focal length, f/5.6 and 90 mm aperture. On the lens there are 2 ED lenses for good correction of chromatic aberration. The apo is corrected for cameras up to FULL FRAME format.

The anti-fog lens hood also offers good protection against stray light and can be extended. The large focuser holds even heavy cameras and allows sharp focusing due to the speed reduction. For connections 2", 1.25" and M68x1 thread are available. Also included is an adapter to M48x0.75 which is ideal for all cameras with a working distance of 55 mm. This adapter also offers the possibility to thread 2" filters.

Focusing the camera on the apo FRA500
The apo corrector is permanently installed in the tube. As soon as you have focused the camera, it is also automatically at the correct distance. The time-consuming search for adapters in the right thickness is no longer necessary

A specialist for photography, but also suitable for observation:
The ASKAR FRA500 is designed for astrophotography. However, due to the comfortable working distance, 2" star diagonals can also be connected. This makes the astrograph a very good telescope for astronomical observation and also for landscape observation. All common 2" and 1.25" accessories can be attached.

Speed increase to f/3.9
The focal ratio of f/5.6 is already relatively fast. But often you want even faster optics. With the optional FRA400Red, you can increase the speed from f/5.6 to f/3.9, thus halving the exposure time. The focal length is shortened to 351 mm.
