PrimaluceLab PLUS dovetail type Losmandy 140mm
The Losmandy 140mm PLUS style dovetail is designed to allow you to install your telescopes on mounts with this plate. This dovetail plate is 140mm long and is useful for installing compact telescopes (such as refractors up to 100mm in diameter) on mounts with a Losmandy plate (such as the SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6, or EQ8).
Like all elements of the PLUS system, this plate is manufactured with high precision mechanics (built with CNC machines from an aluminum block) and specially designed to allow you to easily install other mechanical components such as support rings, guide rings or dovetail clamps.
The 140 mm PLUS style dovetail plate Losmandy is part of our PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) which includes a wide variety of other plates, support rings, guide rings and dovetail clamps to give you the maximum freedom to build your mechanical support system, depending on your application. In fact, all PLUS elements have threaded holes, holes and slots suitable for connecting elements, always with maximum rigidity and convenience.
For this application, we have designed many elements, including the Losmandy 140mm PLUS style dovetail plate. Each component of the PLUS system is made from high-precision CNC machined aluminum blocks. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and anodized (hard anodized) to increase the material's hardness and protect it from oxidation.
Thanks to its particular design, the dovetail plate style Losmandy 140mm PLUS can be:
- positioned below the support rings to install the telescope on plate mounts Losmandy
- installed above the support rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the entire telescope (and allow you to attach other accessories such as guide rings to fine-tune the position of the telescope guide)
- is used as a base to create a side plate (allowing you to install two telescopes in parallel on a single plate mount Losmandy) together with 2 PLUS dovetail clamps.
If you have mechanical accessories of other brands, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed, we have provided a series of central grooves that allow, for example, to fix on this plate brackets or guide rings by means of a screw.
