ECS ProAm 2 model observatories are small and versatile square section observatories with a sliding roof and access door. These observatories can be assembled by the buyer himself as they are extremely easy to install. They are supplied with all anchors and metal fasteners.

Technical Characteristics

1.Materials

-Structure: It consists of a white lacquered aluminum structure, designed so that the four side panels, made of 30 mm thick sandwich plate, access door and roof, fit perfectly with screws.

-Side panels: Sandwich sheet panel, formed by a layer of polyurethane (PUR) with high thermal insulation capacity covered by two ribbed steel plates and exterior pre-lacquered.
Fire and acoustic resistance according to regulations.

-Roof(tile or smooth): Roof panel with an exterior sheet in tile imitation and insulating core of high density PUR or PIR foam, about 40 kg/m3. It is a sandwich panel with an outstanding aesthetic finish, as well as high mechanical strength and high thermal insulation. Smooth 40 mm thick sandwich panel with specific coating and watertightness of the roof.

Fire and acoustic resistance according to regulations.

Finishes: red tile, aged alabaster and slate gray.

-Access door: It is made to measure, in white lacquered aluminum and with security lock

2. Automation


- Motor (220 v connection):Electric motor, reducer and encoder, coupled under a mechanical adapter.

It has a manual clutch to move the motor manually.

- Displacement mechanics: The motor pinion acts by means of direct attack, to the sliding guides of galvanized sheet that move the roof on its rails and according to the direction of opening/closing .The sliding guides are custom-assembled for each of the ProAm Observatory models. At the end and at the beginning of the guide are placed the magnetic devices that act as limit switches.

- Remote control (220V connection): Specific software under ASCOM protocol is supplied, to control the ProAm Observatory (open/closed), the Telescope mount (R.A./Declination) and other possible additional sensors (weather station, clouds,...).

*Connected to PC/laptop it gives direct parking command in case of loss of communications to Gemini Losmandy, Astrophysic and Paramount mounts. Direct connection to IP-SWITCH for automatic shutdown of equipment at the end of the session or for safety shutdown. Automatic reconnection to PC

3. Mounting

-Self-assembly: The ProAm Observatory is supplied disassembled. It is installed following the order described in the instruction manual (included in the shipment). Screws and anchors are included. All the elements that make up the observatory are easily manipulated for transport and assembly.

4. Weight and dimensions

This model admits flat or gable roof.
