With this fantastic dome you can easily and comfortably install your own observatory, protecting your equipment and avoiding the tedious task of assembling and disassembling the telescope in each observation.

The 3 meter diameter ScopeDome allows you to keep your equipment permanently installed in your observing site. This way, the instrument will always be aligned with the sky: you can keep either the polar alignment (if you have an equatorial mount), or the alignment stars (if your mount supports the parking function). Forget all the hard work that needs to be done every time you want to use your telescope, and spend more time having fun: every time you want to use the instrument to discover the wonders of the Universe, it will be ready to use in seconds!

The dome ScopeDome offered by Telescopiomania, can be optionally installed also fully motorized and automated to allow the control and operation of the same through software thanks to the compatibility with the ASCOM platform and with USB port connection.

The dome ScopeDome can be installed on any flat surface made of masonry or wood. In order to help you with the installation, we add, together with the materials necessary for the installation of the dome and the instructions for use, a brief guide with instructions for the correct dimensioning of the dome base. Attention: under this reference only the manual dome is supplied, without the support cylinder and only with the adaptation ring on wood or concrete base.

For fixing, it is suggested to use Hiltianchors and to seal all contact surfaces of the base ring with the dome with silicone.

The dome is light enough to be opened and rotated by hand in case of emergency or power failure.

The dome is made of polyester glass laminate up to 6 mm thick, which provides full resistance to all weather conditions, and the guarantee of high durability and great aesthetics at the same time. In addition, the dome is reinforced by special convex profiles on the outside and reinforcements placed inside the structure. The dome consists of 7 basic elements, which greatly facilitates transport and assembly on tall buildings.

The watertightness of the dome is guaranteed by its special construction which prevents water seepage inside. The glossy cover with special paint helps prevent overheating. The one meter wide opening at the edge of the dome allows free observations using telescopes up to 90 cm in diameter. The observation window is designed so that the telescope also provides a clear view of the zenith. The rotation of the dome is achieved by a robust system of 16 plastic rollers.

Under this reference the dome is supplied in its manual version, but multiple options of motorization, etc. can be added. Please contact us for a customized quotation.

The motorized dome is moved by two low power motors that operate at 220V. One controls the rotation of the dome, and the other allows you to open and close the observation window. A special encoder mounted on an integrated circuit synchronizes the motors to always keep the dome perfectly aligned with the telescope.

The new ScopeDome 3M v.3.0 is the new version of the 3 meter dome manufactured for more than 5 years. After manufacturing more than 250 domes some improvements have been implemented based on our experience and customers and their comments and suggestions.
