SKYWATCHER DOBSON Astrolitech 18" TELESCOPESIUM
With an aperture of 458 mm and a focal length of 1900 mm, the new SkyWatcher Astrolitech 18"-450P multiplies the previously known light gathering and brightness abilities of this type of equipment, taking all visual astronomy enthusiasts to a new level of deep sky and planetary observation and experience, thanks to its wonderfully fast focal ratio of f/4.1.
Its sleek new bar system design makes it easy to transport once disassembled, and also allows you to set up and have it ready for action in as little as 20 minutes.
Among other exceptional qualities of the SkyWatcher Astrolitech 18" Dobson SkyWatcher, the mount is equipped with a smooth manual system of movements on both axes, altitude and azimuth, offering exceptional performance in both planetary and deep sky observation.
telescopiomania's best Dobson puts stars, nebulae and planets at your fingertips like you've never seen them before!
The new SkyWatcher Astrolitech 18" Dobson SkyWatcher includes a high quality parabolic primary mirror that eliminates the inherent spherical aberrations typical of fast focal length reflectors with a spherical primary mirror. The primary mirror of this DobsonSkyWatcher Astrolitech 18", like all other Sky-Watcher reflectors, is parabolic so that all light rays converge on the same focal point so that the observed image is perfectly endowed with contrast and definition, obtaining images full of detail.
Telescopiomania astronomers have been able to test the Dobson SkyWatcher Astrolitech 18" and have highlighted the quality and sharpness of the images it provides, even allowing to appreciate faint colors in M42, the Orion Nebula.
Most reflectors today have a mirror coating with a layer of aluminum and a layer of silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide for protection. Silicon dioxide produces a much more durable and resistant optical coating than silicon monoxide but requires much more specialized machinery for its application, which of course increases the cost of the mirror.
This type of protection is necessary because in most reflectors, the mirror is in constant contact with the air and other atmospheric elements that eventually deteriorate the reflective coating, thus reducing the resolution of the telescope. ALL Sky-Watcher reflectors are equipped with silicon monoxide multi-coated primary mirrors as standard, ensuring optimum equipment quality and excellent long term performance
