All about the focuser Kepler 10: 1 of 50.8 mm for Newton / Dobson Sky-Watcher
Focusing is a crucial element to obtain the best images with a Newton / Dobsonian, especially for short focal lengths and images. To facilitate focusing, under our brand Kepler we offer a very good quality rack model with microfocuser (1/10 gear reduction) adaptable only to Sky-Watcher Newton / Dobson instruments from 200 to 300 mm diameter. It has a load capacity of 2.7 kg to support large eyepieces, a ccd camera or an APS-C format apn.
It is an "improvement", an appreciable improvement if your telescope does not have a fine focus on the base, multiplied. For high magnification observations (planetary, lunar) it is an essential advantage, as the desired precision is important. However, if you provide more images, a motorized solution will be recommended (so as not to touch the tube and induce vibrations). PrimaLuce Lab's Sesto Senso II system is recommended
At the level of fixation on your optical tube, this eyepiece holder has 3 pairs of holes at 120° corresponding only to Newton / Dobson tubes manufactured by Synta. One set of screws is used to adjust the focuser (for focuser orthogonality with respect to the optical axis), the other pair to lock the adjustment. Each model has a 50.8 mm stem with 31.75 mm reducer. A screw allows adjustment at the top of the rack hardness, the more important the load, the more the tension of the knurled screw prevents slippage of the sliding tube.
