This focuser is superior to conventional Crayford focusers because the bearings and adjustment are decoupled from each other. This allows sensitive adjustment with a good bearing arrangement, even at maximum load.

Focuser TS-Optics 2.5" rack and pinion focuser with M90x1 connection and 360° rotation

TS 2.5" Rack and Pinion Focuser for Telescope Self-Build and Telescope Upgrade
This focuser is superior to conventional Crayford focusers because the bearings and adjustment are decoupled from each other. This allows for sensitive adjustment with a good bearing arrangement, even at maximum load.

Rack and pinion adjustment:
A conventional Crayford focuser operates with contact pressure. The weaker the pressure, the smoother the focuser, although there is always a risk of slippage, as the adjustment and bearing are combined. This focuser is very different:

The drive tube is solidly supported on ball bearings. The bearing arrangement is optimized for maximum rigidity. The adjustment of the drive tube is carried out by means of a helical toothed rack. The advantage is an absolutely smooth adjustment.

The focuser position clamping is also optimized. No clamping screw simply presses on the drawtube, but the adjustment position is fixed. In this way, the focusing position is maintained at 100%.

Easy adaptation to your telescope by means of the M90x1 connection thread:
The focuser has an M90x1 female thread as connection on the telescope side. In addition, you can rotate the complete focuser 360° to always have a comfortable focusing position. We can also manufacture individual transition adapters for your telescope. However, please note that the free aperture of the focuser of your telescope must be at least 74 mm. This is the diameter of the drive tube with the rack.

Technical specifications:

  • Focuser type: rack and pinion focuser
  • Payload: 4 kg
  • Connection thread on telescope side M90x1 female thread, 12 mm deep
  • Connection on eyepiece side: 2", 1.25" and M63x1 female threads
  • Shortest total height from the M90 thread connection to 2": 108 mm
  • Shortest total height from M90 threaded connection to M63x1 female thread: 84 mm
  • Travel: 55 mm
  • Weight: 1240 g

Easy adaptation to your telescope by means of the M90x1 threaded connection:

The focuser has an M90x1 female thread as connection on the telescope side. In addition, you can rotate the complete focuser 360° to always have a comfortable focusing position. We can also manufacture individual transition adapters for your telescope. However, please note that the free aperture of the focuser of your telescope must be at least 74 mm. This is the diameter of the drive tube with the rack.

THEREFORE, IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH RC TUBES SUCH AS THE 6" AS ITS REAR CLEAR APERTURE IS LESS THAN 74MM
