Optical tubes Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain 8" EDGE HD tubes are manufactured to the same standards applied to the higher end tubes.

Each optical surface of the optical tubes Celestron is coated with the highly efficient StarBright XLT® multi-layer treatment. All tubes are equipped with the same dovetail fitting platform used in the Advanced GT and CGEM series so that it is easy to fit them into a variety of mounts.

See the universe in a telescope Celestron CGX EdgeHD. It is a fantastic Schmidt Aplanatic designed to provide aberration-free images over a wide field of view and photographic field of view. The optical system was designed to reduce not only the off-axis coma effect, but also to provide a totally uniform photographic focal plane over the entire field of view.

True astrographic quality. Many self-described "astrographic" quality optical designs actually produce point stars along a curved focal plane. While this may be acceptable in visual observations, stars will appear out of focus at the edges when using flat CCD sensors from digital cameras. The telescope's EdgeHD optics Celestron produce a focal plane three times more uniform than that offered by classic Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and radically flatter than other coma-free designs. This ensures that the user will obtain perfectly sharp images across the entire field of the largest CCD sensors currently available.

Even when the object is perfectly defined in the center of the field of view, a curved focal plane will produce out-of-focus images at the edges. The wider the field of view the more pronounced the defects.

The performance of the EdgeHD design not only delivers timely and pleasing images, but also improves resolution and magnitude limit relative to other telescopes of similar apertures. The high-definition optics of Celestron allow small angular sizes to be resolved over the entire field, revealing fine details and high contrasts.

The telescope's EdgeHD optics Celestron provide smaller (more concentrated) stars that create brighter images and allow fainter magnitudes to be achieved relative to other telescopes of similar size. Poor image quality at the edges can widely scatter the starlight to match the brightness of the sky background, making the stars undetectable to the eye or a camera. With EdgeHD optics the user will be able to capture the faintest galaxies across the entire sensor field of their camera.

Each optical surface of the telescopes Celestron is coated with the XLT coating. EdgeHD series models offer maximum light transmission across the entire field of view and photographic spectrum.

In addition to the new optimized optical design, the EdgeHD series tubes have been redesigned to offer the highest possible performance in every observation thanks to:

Mirror holder - Flexible tension clutches hold the mirror in position and reduce image wobble as the tube rotates around the mount. The flexible rods hold the mirror in position without exerting any pressure or force on the holder, keeping the image centered in the eyepiece (or chip).

Tube vents - Two vents located at the rear of the tube allow hot air to be expelled from the primary mirror. Each vent has an integrated 60-micron micro-mesh filter that allows the air to be expelled without dropping dust particles inside.

Fastar Versatility - The EdgeHD series includes the most versatile telescopes available today. With the classic f/10 the user can obtain the image scale needed to capture the smallest deep sky objects. With an optional dedicated reducer it is possible to increase the field of view without sacrificing optical performance. A barlow lens provides the added magnification needed for high planetary, lunar and solar imaging resolutions. And all EdgeHD optical tubes are compatible with the Fastar system for ultra-fast wide-field imaging - f/2. Each tube is supplied with a removable secondary mirror and is opto-mechanically aligned on a laser optical bench to ensure they are axially symmetrical in any configuration.

Easy collimation - With their precision manufactured mechanical parts and spherical secondary mirror, EdgeHD optics can be easily and accurately collimated so that the user can take advantage of the tremendous potential these instruments possess.

The new flat Schmidt optical design produces aberration-free images over the entire field of view. The tube incorporates tension knobs that hold the primary mirror in position preventing image shift effect.

The telescope Celestron CGX 800 EDGE HD features StarBright XLT coated optics of Celestron and the newly designed CGX computerized mount. This is the most compact of the SC models from Celestron EDGE HD equipped with CGX. This telescope is specially designed for fantastic planetary observations and also performs extraordinarily well in the deep sky. With its 8-inch aperture and premium StarBright XLT treatments, the CGX 800 EDGE HD gives you more than 800 times the light gathering power of the unaided eye.

CELESTRON CGX EQUATORIAL MOUNT.

For eight years, CGEM's CGEM mounts from Celestron have been the backbone of German equatorial mounts for telescopes ranging from 6 to 11 inches in aperture. Since that time, astronomical and especially astrophotographic observing technology has evolved tremendously. So the engineering team at Celestron has applied its years of experience in German equatorial frame design to the new CGX EQ, a culmination of all the recent advances in technology, ergonomics, attractive design and ease of use.

The new Celestron The CGX telescope we offer at Telescopiomania has been designed to better support your telescope in both visual and astrophotographic configurations. Key objectives of the new design include a lower profile equatorial head, which provides a much more compact and therefore more stable configuration; an improved drive system; secure remote operation through stable "home" positions and visual limits; easier adjustments for polar alignment; and improved cable management. In addition to all this, many mechanical and ergonomic improvements have been introduced to make the mount much more robust, easier to use, and more agile in transport.
