This model is an ideal complement to HyperStar systems, where a very fast focal ratio of f/2 makes it easier than ever to achieve good results with spectacular images in a few seconds of exposure, but it can also be used with short focal refractors and astrographs, obtaining beautiful and enormously wide views of deep sky objects by providing an exceptional photographic field.
The high resolution of the images obtained with the Atik 4120EX color offered by Telescopiomania becomes very evident when printing images at A3 poster size and larger for a truly stunning visual impact. This high resolution also provides the option to zoom in on different parts of an image on a computer screen to see even the smallest details of your photographs highlighted. The Atik 4120EX is only available as a single-shot color camera (OSC) as this is the format in which the really small pixel size has an advantage in faithfully recording the color of stars and nebulae in the image.
OSC cameras allow you to take a single shot and appreciate - and enjoy! the color, something that would require filters and a filter wheel to achieve similar results with a monochrome camera. Adding an infrared blocking filter or a light pollution filter is all you need to explore the wonders of the universe with the Atik 4120EX. This superb camera is fully compatible with 1.25" filters up to f/2, so it helps to make extraordinary astrophotographs at low cost compared to larger filter types. The other advantage of an OSC camera is the simplicity of processing its images, since by recording color in one image it is no longer necessary to align the 3 or 4 separate images needed in LRGB or RGB astrophotography.
