High-resolution deep-sky camera with large, highly sensitive SONY Exmor IMX428 CMOS sensor and active cooling for short and medium focal lengths.

Take your first steps into the world of astrophotographynow . With the new EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC DEEP SKY ASTRONOMIC camera you get a modern complete package for convenient astronomical photography and video. At last there is an easy-to-operate camera for capturing galaxies, star clusters, the Moon and even the planets with very high sensor sensitivity, high resolution and very low sensor noise. The high sensitivity allows very short exposure times and freezing of air turbulence in planet photographs. Thanks to thefast USB-3 computerinterface, all image data are transmitted within seconds. No need to wait for a long time anymore.

Simply connect the camera to the telescope via the T2 internal thread (M42,0.75 mm) or with theincluded 2'' (50.8 mm) adapter and, after installing the drivers and theincluded EXPLORE Capture software for image capture and editing, you are ready to take your first real astronomical pictures with a camera that is highly specialized for your purpose of use.

The included professional EXPLORE Capture software offers not only the basic functions required for image and video capture, but also many handy special functions for image editing and camera setup. Functions such as, for example ,live image display, lighting settings, white balance, dark image correction, stacking, fast-motion shooting and many more can be individually configured. The highly advanced software will make it very easy for you to get started with astrophotography. With the automatic settings you can achieve very presentable results even without a lot of prior knowledge. If you wish, you can deactivate the automatic settings and then gradually try out theindividual professional settings.

The new EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC DEEP SKY camera has an extremely sensitive and low-noise SONY Exmor IMX428 CMOS sensor, which is cooled down to 40 °C below ambient temperature thanks to the two-stage thermoelectric cooling. Unlike normal DSLR cameras, this guarantees absolutely low noise and fewer hot pixels in your shots. This not only makes the images much sharper and brighter, but also contains more usable image information. Through controlled adjustment of the desired camera temperature, dark frames can be created at any time under reproducible capture conditions. The large-format COMOS sensor with 17.6 mm diagonal also enables large fields of view and simplifies the adjustment and centering of objects considerably.

On the rear of the camera there is a built-in USB Hub with 2 USB2.0 connections. Here you can connect your additional Autoguider camera or motor focus etc. with a short USB cable, thus reducing the risk of tangled or broken cables. This way, there is no need to cable-connect your accessories to your computer.

A sturdy hard case for camera and accessoriesis also included .

NOTE:
do not be confused by megapixel specifications and conflicting prices. In the field of astronomy the decisive criterion is not the resolution of the sensor, but the maximum photographic sensitivity. The main objective is to capture the maximum amount of light in a short time.

Fields of view for different focal lengths in arcminutes and degrees:

  • 400 mm - 124'x 85' (2.1 x 1.4 degrees)
  • 500 mm - 99'x 68' (1.7 x 1.1 degrees)
  • 600 mm - 82'x 56' (1.4 x 0.9 degrees)
