48mm T-Adapter Celestron for Edge HD 9.25, 11" and 14".
The 48mm T-Adapter is the perfect accessory if you want to connect your digital SLR or full frame astronomy camera to an optical tube Celestron EdgeHD. With DSLR CCD chips getting larger and larger, Celestron created the 48mm T-Adapter to reduce vignetting and provide a greater light path to your camera's sensor, producing exceptional astrophotos.
The standard T-adapter for EdgeHD 9.25", 11" and 14" comes with a 42mm T-thread for a 42mm T-ring. This smaller 42mm T-adapter truncates the cone of light coming from the back of EdgeHD optical tubes, which creates vignetting at the corners of full-frame image sensors. The 48mm T-adapter has a larger aperture, allowing unobstructed light to illuminate the entire sensor, optimizing the capabilities of the full-frame sensor.
Below, you'll find the differences between the 42mm and 48mm T-rings to give you an idea of the space the 42mm and 48mm T-threads will provide on the T-adapter.
Key features:
- Attaches directly to the rear cell of larger Edge optical tubes
- Produces better illumination for today's largest full-frame image sensors, all the way to the corners
- Reduces vignetting (image darkens around the edges of the image sensor) by providing unobstructed light to the camera
- M48 x 0.75
- Weight: 200 grams
