Astrodon provides you with the highest performance and most durable filters for astrophotography and research. It all started as a hobby to take photographs through telescopes with high resolution monochrome CCD cameras and red, green and blue filters to produce a color image of a galaxy or nebula. At first the RGB filters were not well color balanced, which meant that you could not simply combine them on the computer equally. The blue filters were not very efficient, produced noisy data and required heavier images when combined with green and red data. This is why Astrodon began designing a set of RGB filters that were truly "balanced" to simplify the overall imaging task.
