Planewave Instruments (USA) is a manufacturer specialized in the manufacture of large diameter astrograph telescopes. Planewave telescopes stand out for providing large field and high brightness images with large diameter mirrors. The entire assembly is housed in a carbon fiber structure, which is very insensitive to temperature changes.

With a Dall-Kirkham configuration that integrates a field corrector, and with extreme skill on the part of its engineers, Planewave telescopes offer identical performance to Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes but at a significantly lower price. Planewave manufactures a range of optical tubes from 12.5" (318 mm) to 28" (710 mm) and can be supplied with heavy-duty German equatorial mounts or even forked altazimuth mounts.
