Exceptionally small!
In contrast to the traditional angled design of electronic focusers, QFocuser incorporatescurvesIn design, giving a touch of elegance to its small size. The QFocuser comes intwo versions:Standard QFocuser(standard) andhigh Precision QFocuser(high precision).
QFocuser (Standard version)
The versionStandardis designed to be installed on the standard focuser adjustment shaft of the telescope. This is the same system as with most focusers on the market.
The versionHighPrecisionis installed in theprecise focus axisOf the telescope focuser.
Most electric focusers use a motor and gear reductions that prevent manual focusing once installed. However, thehighPrecisionis equipped with amotor without reduction, this allows the focus to be adjusted manually even after installation, without the need for power or a clutch switch.
Another advantage is that it allows to reach almostzero backlash. The backlash calculation affects the entire focusing system, including the focusing motor, not just the electronic focuser. As thePrecision QFocuserUses a gearless motor, the backlash added from the motor is practically zero. Thus, if a good focuser is used, the entire focusing system will operate with near-zero backlash. According to tests conducted at NINA, with the backlash set to 0 in the Autofocus specifications, the autofocusing process runs smoothly.
Multiple Installation Options
QFocuser has numerous holes on both the bottom and sides, providing various adjustment methods. Unlike mounting plates with fixed holes, the QFocuser adopts aflexible structureWhere the position of the holes and the height of the mounting plate can be freely adjusted to obtain the best compatibility with your telescope.
Software and Interface
QFocuser can be powered in two ways: USB Type-C 5V and 12VDC. USB 5V being sufficient in most cases. Both the standard and the precision version support aexternal temperature sensor(included) for users who require temperature monitoring.
In addition, amanual controllerIs available as an optional accessory. It allows the autofocuser to be operated without touching the focuser or connecting it to the computer.
At this time, QFocuser supports both Windows (with drivers ofASCOM) and systemsLinux. In the ASCOM driver, we have integrated the basic functions such as moving, custom current position, limit switches, torque hold, temperature display, etc. It can also be controlled by third party software.
