Product Details

The new 0.7x focal reducer for 8" EDGE HD telescopes is made of Lanthanum glass (known for its quality in eliminating chromatic aberrations and popularized by the famous NLV eyepieces (New Lanthanum Vixen) from Japanese manufacturer VIXEN. The 4 optical elements that make up the focal reducer are specifically treated to maximize light transmission and have blackened edges to avoid internal reflections.

Technical features:

The 0.7x focal reducer for EDGE HD 800 tubes makes your EDGE HD 800 optical tube much faster and brighter than working at f/10. This allows you to reduce exposure times by half in order to capture the same brightness of a given object.
4-element optical design.
Maintains the same flat field property that the optical tube has when working at its original focal length of f/10. The quality of the system is not altered at all.
Increase the field of view by 43% allowing wide field images to be captured.
Threads directly into the rear cell of the EDGE HD tube to reduce mechanical vignetting and thus allow the use of larger CCD's (Full Frame) and off-axis radial guides.
Optimized for APS-C format sensors, including those of DSLR cameras and NightScape CCDs.
Maintains the same Back Focus as when using the tube at f/10. In addition, it provides a Back Focus large enough to allow the use of additional accessories and a wide variety of cameras.
Allows the use of the same T Adapter for EDGE HD both with the reducer and working at prime focus.
