Book A Ras de Cielo.
get up off the couch and go outdoors to contemplate the sky!
The embryo from which this book was born was a series of articles published in the magazine Tribuna de Astronomía in the 1990s. This material, restructured and enriched, led to a first edition of the work in 1998 and a second, revised and expanded edition in 2008. The passage of time and the comments of the reading public allow this new, much improved edition to appear today, with which the author fulfills an aspiration since he first conceived it: its illustrated character, in full color, with photographs of the highest quality, provided by one of the best astrophotographers in the world, Juan Carlos Casado. The treatment of such visual scientific issues as those included in this book is greatly improved by presenting, together with the explanations, some of the best available photographic images of these phenomena, many of which have been recognized by NASA as Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). Hopefully these pages will serve to move those who read them to get up from their seats and go outdoors to look at the sky.
