Living on Mars.

Soon we will live on Mars. The space race to send the first humans to colonize the red planet is already underway. The terraforming process is inevitable and the reasons for leaving Earth in the face of future threats are clear. The first humans to face what will undoubtedly be the great challenge of our humanity could arrive on Mars in just twenty years to start building our new home in the solar system.

This new, readable, easy-to-read and fantastically well-illustrated volume is the first book to reveal how we will live on the red planet. LIVING ON MARS answers the great unknowns about what our life on the red planet will be like:

          • The expeditions to send men to Mars.
          • Why we will leave Earth.
          • The dangers of Mars.
          • Martian colonies.
          • The life of the first Martians.
          • Extraterrestrial sex.
          • Government and society on Mars.

About the author:

Eladio Miranda Batlle (1965), a graduate in civil engineering from the University of Havana, accumulates several mentions for his work as a scientific disseminator in the field of astronomy. He has studied astronomy, astrobiology, celestial mechanics, cosmology and the solar system. Among his best known works are Mars: the exploration of the fourth planet and Basic Astronomy. The Cuban engineer manages to explain the most complex mysteries of the universe in a pleasant, fresh and simple way.

Living on Mars is moving further and further away from utopia and space agencies such as NASA and ESA are currently conducting research to send a man to Mars by 2030, and private institutions such as Mars One already have candidates for that first manned trip, either with or without return. Building a colony of humans on Mars is not an unrealistic dream, technological advances, our desire to go into the unknown, drive us more and more to become the first living beings, known, to reach another planet other than the one they inhabit. Technology will help us, no doubt about it. While we wait for humans to take that next big step, let's enjoy and dream a little with this book!
