Observation of double stars.
This book fills a gap in the Spanish-language literature on double stars. It is intended to be useful both for novice observers and for those more experienced ones who wish to delve deeper into this field.
The reader will find an updated and updated work thanks to the analysis of the latest observing techniques, without forgetting the basic aspects that every interested observer should know: historical review, equipment, methodology, etc.
In addition, a documented description of the essential specialized software is provided, and the reader is encouraged to undertake research projects based on the example of previous experiences carried out by other observers. It also includes a series of appendices with lists of double stars in both hemispheres, most of them unpublished, updated and with ephemerides for several decades.
About the authors: Rafael Benavides Palencia, Juan-Luis González Carballo and Edgardo Rubén Masa Martín are assiduous observers of double stars. They are editors of the specialized magazine El Observador de Estrellas Dobles and have developed numerous initiatives to promote the observation and study of these stars. They have also participated in a multitude of congresses and conferences to publicize their research on the subject. Between the three of them, they have discovered and catalogued nearly 800 binary systems. They are regular contributors to the prestigious journal Astronomía.
