Synopsis
The main instrument for making our image of the cosmos increasingly objective has been mathematics (its language, according to Galileo Galilei), without which "we would be navigating through a dark labyrinth". This book traces the history of how mathematics (and, in particular, geometry) has accompanied us and contributed its achievements to the task of understanding the space in which we live.
