He studied at the University of Barcelona and received his PhD in 2007. His area of study is the precise techniques for the detection of planetes and he has participated in several research projects. He leads the group that has discovered the planet Proxima b, the closest potentially habitable planet to Earth. He also led together with R. Paul Butler the project that located the super-Earth GJ 667Cc, a planet 22 light-years away from Earth and with a mass four times higher. At the end of 2016, Nature magazine selected him as one of the 10 most outstanding scientists of 2016 worldwide.
Physicist, aerospace engineer and doctor in space propulsion. He has been teaching and researching at the Universitat Politècnica de Barcelona for 7 years.
During the last three years, he combines these activities with Science Outreach, mainly through a personal project called Gaia Science (blogsite, youtube channel and live performances).

Eduard Altarriba has been working for two decades in the field of graphic design and illustration, and for some years he has been working in Alababalà, his small and independent studio. In it, they are focused on offering publishing services and the creation of projects aimed at children. He likes to make books, games, exhibitions, animations, applications and workbooks that are practical, instructive, meaningful and, of course, fun.
