The exciting new Sky-Watcher Star Discovery mount is an improved version of the AZ Go-To mount with FreedomFind dual encoder technology. This allows the telescope, once aligned, to be moved manually or electronically on either axis without the mount losing its alignment or positional information. After moving to a new object, the mount will follow it precisely. This gives the user great freedom and flexibility during observing sessions.

The SynScan WIFI module, integrated in the body of the mount, creates its own WLAN. This makes it wirelessly controllable with your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is install the free SynScan app on your mobile device.

Controlling the SynScan app has many advantages: it is wireless, it is particularly intuitive with the touchscreen and graphical user interface, and it offers other options, such as nighttime highlights, celestial object identification, etc.

The initialization required before observation is also very easy with the GPS data of your mobile device. After performing the simple alignment procedure, you are ready to discover the universe. The SynScan app allows fully computer-controlled GoTo control of the mount and automatically moves the telescope to any object you have selected from the extensive database of over 10,000 objects.
