Everything you need to know about the Antlia Luminance filter
The "Luminance" layer is one of the most important elements in the success of an astrophotographic image. The goal is to obtain the maximum possible signal, using the most transmissive filter possible in the widest possible spectral bandwidth. In this way, sensitivity is maximized, as each photosite in the camera captures the photons in the best possible way.
With a bandwidth of over 95% on average between 440 and 690 nm, Antlia L filters deliver excellent results, with a sharp cut-off in the ultraviolet and infrared. Antlia has worked very hard to limit halos and spurious reflections.
Transmission curve of the Antlia Luminance filter (orange line). The wavelength in nanometers is on the abscissa axis. The transmission percentage is on the ordinate.
