Product Details

This 1.8 m long interface has been designed to use Sky-Watcher EQ8, EQ8-R, EQ8-RH, AZ-EQ6, AZ-EQ5, EQ6-R, EQM-35, HEQ5 Pro, Orion Sirius, EQ5 Goto, EQ3 Goto... mounts to the best of their capabilities, and is a continuation of the free EQMOD project.

In addition, important detail, this cable is also compatible with the new Star Adventurer GTi montua.

This interface allows to connect a PC with USB port (under Windows XP, Vista, 7, 10 or 11) or a RaspBerry or a ZWO ASIAIR (or any other embedded solution with Linux) and a HEQ5 type mount. It is plugged in place of the controller (SUB-D9 port) of the mount. This way, the mount's motors are under direct control of the computer, allowing access to functions hitherto impossible with these mounts: ultra-precise "Go-To" pointing, direct autoguidance (by ASCOM), satellite tracking, N-star alignment, synchronization, GPS support, etc... Allows to update the mount firmware easily, and to take control through an ASIAIR or Raspberry box or a PC via USB.

Compatibility:

All Windows versions from Windows XP to Windows 11 (and more), however, we recommend Windows 10 at least!

Linux systems, ASIAir / ASIAir Pro / ASIAIR Plus and other Raspberry enclosures

The interface is delivered with user instructions for Windows and links to download the software and drivers required for proper operation are available on the manufacturer's website.
