USB-AZGTi Direct Interface Cable Pierro Astro
- Compatible with most PC, ASIAIR, Mac...
- Works under EQMOD protocol
his 1.8 m long interface has been designed to use Sky-Watcher AZ-GTimounts to their fullest potential and follows the free EQMOD project. This interface allows you to connect a PC with a USB port (under Windows XP, Vista, 7, 10 or 11) or a RaspBerry or an ASIAIR ZWO (or any other embedded Linux solution) and an AZ-GTi mount. It is plugged in place of the racket (RJ12) of the mount. This way, the mount motors are under direct control of the computer. It allows you to update the mount firmware easily and take control via an ASIAIR or Raspberry box or a PC via USB.
Compatibility:
- All Windows versions from Windows XP to Windows 11 (and up), however, we recommend Windows 10 at least!
- MacOS system
- Linux systems, ASIAir / ASIAir Pro / ASIAIR Plus and other Raspberry Boxes
The interface is delivered with user instructions for Windows and links to download the software and drivers required for proper operation are available on the manufacturer's website.
Note: The EQMOD drivers on PC do not work very well with the AZ-GTi mounts, however, the SynScan application and ASCOM Sky-Watcher drivers allow the mount to work flawlessly .The AZ-GTi is also well recognized by Linux (INDI) systems such as ASIAIR and other embedded solutions.
Attention: The ASCOM EQMOD parameters must be set for the AZ-GTi mount as follows:
- Total steps: 2073600
- Worm steps: 14400
- Tracking offset: 0
