RB telescope control system Focus Gaius-S SmartBox with Cable Set
The new Gaius S integrates a complete computer with 4GB DDR4 RAM, 250GB NVME SSD, and Intel Celeron 4120N 4-core 2.60GHZ. Its 6 USB ports and 7 power outputs are configured as follows: 1x USB-C, 3x USB3.0, 2x USB2.0, 7 x industrial grade 2.1 DC Jack. Such configuration allows connecting up to 5 devices and 2 heating strips.
The connection to the device is established via WiFi direct and LAN which gives us high quality remote access from any device be it a tablet, smartphone or laptop. In addition, it displays in real time atmospheric conditions such as temperature, humidity and dew point and also important data such as equipment consumption and the voltage that is supplementing the power supply either a battery or transformer 220VAC to 12VDC.
Ready for astrophotography with Windows 10 Pro RB-Focus Edition OS, it comes with popular pre-installed software such as N.I.N.A, ASCOM, EQMOD, ASCOM drivers for RB Focus, PHD2, ASTAP, Plate Solve 2 and Stellarium, plus all the outputs and ASCOM driver preconfigured, so just place the equipment to use and go out to take pictures of the night sky. Both on the OLED screen and in the program mentioned above you can see the OSD of the device showing in real time all the data concerning the state of the environment and the power supply.
Enhanced connectivity through the use of a state-of-the-art 5 AC WiFi card and dual band antenna. Thanks to this we can move further away from the equipment without fear of compromising the connection speed. All this to improve the already excellent connection experience present in previous versions of the Gaius.
It is compatible with observatory control programs and allows to turn on and off the equipment remotely, as well as to configure heating bands or fans automatically. It can be controlled from any software that supports ASCOM Switch Box, such as N.I.N.A or Voyager, etc. It is also possible to program the automatic shutdown of the equipment at the end of the session so that you no longer have to worry about leaving the camera or mount on all night.
It keeps the astronomical equipment protected, by using ultra fast supervisors and switching via high power MOSFET, we can ensure that in case of any accident everything connected to this device will be safe. After a short-circuit occurs, not even a spark will be observed due to the high response speed of the intelligent supervisor. In addition, if an overvoltage occurs due to a wrong or defective power source, it will inform and disconnect the equipment to avoid problems.
Automatic web controller, through the use of temperature and humidity sensors included in the package. The device has the necessary data to calculate the dew point so that it can be programmed in the control software to turn on the heating bands only when they are really necessary and thus avoid keeping them consuming electricity and generating unwanted currents in the OTA.

That's why the new SmartBox has been designed to weigh only 250g, be quite small measuring only 12cm x 8.5cm x 3.2cm and consume only 0.8Ah.
