IDAS Nebula Booster NBZ UHS 48 mm IDAS filter for RASA and HyperStar
The Hutech IDAS NBZ lets through O-III and H-Alpha and the UHS version is especially suitable for high-speed optics such as Celestron RASA or Hyperstar.
♦ 2" filter mounted with M48x0.75 thread connection - low profile filter mount
♦ Suitable for monochrome and color cameras
♦ Especially suitable for focal ratios from 1:1.8 to 1:2.8 (a 1:4 or smaller, the NBZ-48 is better )
♦ Therefore, it can be used especially with fast telescopes like RASA or HyperStar
♦ The filter is very suitable for recording gas nebulae and planetary nebulae
♦ Artificial sky glow (stray light) is almost completely blocked
♦ High quality anti-reflective coating with an anti-reflective coating
♦ Scratch resistant hard coating
♦ Thickness of 2,5 mm - parfocal to other IDAS filters
♦ Infrared light is blocked
♦ IDAS filters are manufactured in Japan
The NBZ-UHS filter is a dual line pass filter that can be used with single-shot color cameras (DSLRs, system cameras, color astronomy cameras) and monochrome cameras.
The NBZ UHS filter lets through the red H-alpha line and blue-green lines [O III] and increases contrast . Itobtains narrow-band recordings with a single exposure series.
The special thing about the NBZ UHS haze filter is that it is particularly suitable for very fast lenses between 1:1.4 and 1:2.8. Other narrow band filters cut too much. Instead of 90%, there may only be 30-40% light transmission. Fog is barely visible. Not so with the NBZ UHS, even at 1:1.4 you still have more than 85%. This makes the filter ideal for fast telescopes like Celestron RASA or Starizona HyperStar.
The IDAS NBZ UHS allows an extension of the exposure time by a factor of 4. However, 90% of the most important lines in the deep sky area (H-alpha and O-III) are missed.
In short, you can expose about four times longer until the sky background appears, but the object appears much stronger and contrasting against the background than without a filter.
