The Solarscope project started with the invention of Mr. Jean Gay, an astronomer and scientist at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, in his effort to enable safe observation of the sun at an affordable price. During the 1999 solar eclipse, he noticed a great interest in the general public for solar phenomena such as eclipses, transits of planets and daily sunspot observation. The patents used in Solarscope products provide results and user experience at a price unrivaled by any other product in the world. The desire to lead the way in solar observation scopes has led Light Tec Optical Instrument to develop the manufacturing and distribution of Solarscope in the astronomy field (observatories, astronomical associations, astro/optical stores) as well as Educational outreach programs. and enter the recreation and entertainment markets (through catalogs). Light Tec Optics Instruments and private placement partners formed Solarscope LLC, with full license to manufacture and market the Solarscope product in North and South America.
